DEPUTY SHERIFF

The Red Willow County Sheriff's Department is currently taking applications for Deputy Sheriff. Nebraska certified law enforcement officer preferred; however, non-resident and non-certified will be considered. The application process will involve submittal of the employment application, intensive background investigation and interview. Upon conditional offer, the inclusion of a psychological test, physical and additional backgrounding will be included. Applicants must be 21 years of age, have a High School diploma or GED, valid driver's license, no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions, be of good moral character and good physical condition. Non-certified must be able to meet NELETC requirements prior to attendance.

Benefits include individual medical insurance, paid vacation, sick leave, hourly wages plus overtime, county retirement program as well as a take home vehicle. Employees are provided with uniforms, duty gear, firearm and body armor. Shifts are variable at this time and flexible.

Starting wages begin at $24.50-$30/hour during attendance to NELETC and FTO. Wages will step up after that. Certified officers wages will be determined by experience and training and will range from $25-$30/hour with increases based on merit.
