Alan Kotschwar

Sheriff

Sheriff Alan Kotschwar was born and raised in McCook, Red Willow County, Nebraska. He attended school in McCook graduating from McCook High School and then later graduated from McCook Community College. 

Sheriff Kotschwar has been with the Red Willow County Sheriff's Office over 22 years and in Law Enforcement over 34 years.

Experience

  • Graduated from the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center in 1981
  • Continued Training by Attending Numerous Law Enforcement Schools and Training
  • Joined the Red Willow County Sheriff's Department in March of 1995
  • Performed the duties of Sergeant, Lieutenant and Chief Deputy
  • Elected to Sheriff in 2014 and Officially Took Office January 8, 2015
